Atalaya Golf

Atalaya Golf features 2 courses of 18 holes each:

Opened in 1968, the Old course, designed by Bernhard von Limburger, is one of the oldest and most prestigious golf courses on the Costa del Sol. The designer was responsible for developing 74 golf courses across Europe, although Atalaya Golf is the only course he designed in Spain. The wide and undulating fairways run through large wooded areas and shrubs that provide shade and color throughout the year. The elevated greens make the club selection more than interesting in addition to the drops that require great precision to sink all the important putts.

The Old course is ideal for walking and also offers magnificent views of La Concha and the Mediterranean Sea. The lakes and streams host a large number of animal species such as waterfowl including our two pairs of swans.

The New course was inaugurated in 1990 and was designed by Paul Krings. It is an interesting challenge. Located in the hills above the Old course, the New course requires a lot of precision from the tee instead of distance. Many of the fairways are characterized by their elevation changes that make the choice of club thinking about the next shot of vital importance.
